Thank you this this article. It is very timely, in light of the rumblings on Bharat's next actions after the Pahalgam massacre. In my opinion, Mohandas Gandhi and the average Hindu's unquestioning swallowing of his legacy are responsible for the warped view on ahimsa. Because of his imprint on Hindu's psyche, we tricked ourselves into believing that there was virtue in being harmless and ineffective in the face of true violence inflicted on our civilization. None of our ithiasa encourages us to not use calculated and proportionate force to suppress evil. Hindu society has suffered greatly for this decades-long delusion that ahimsa is pacifism.
