Welcome to the Hindu Parenting newsletter! Parenting is a full-time commitment, more so for the difficult job of raising Hindu children in today's world. As demands on our time are increasing every day, we need to cut through the clutter and focus on developing an engaging, creative, practical approach to effective parenting. It requires attention and clarity of thought.
Over the last couple of generations, Hindu parents have been very outward-looking, raising children to blend in with their surroundings. The emphasis was on being fair, getting good grades, staying quiet, and living a successful life without troubling others. While that approach continues, we find that the environment has changed substantially around us in the last decade. Now fitting in may mean actively opposing our heritage and roots. We are often left quite confused about what to tell our children and how to bring them up. How do we navigate - and help our children navigate - the chaotic new world out there? Despite the negative news cycles and the clamor of social media around us, we need to maintain a sense of sanity inside our homes. It will be the best way of reaching and influencing our children.
Hindu Parenting offers a sensible, creative, relevant approach for parents worldwide to raise balanced kids who appreciate our ancient civilization's uniqueness. The goal is to facilitate a love for Hindu culture so that our children can defend it from attacks and become active participants in its preservation.
Please sign up for newsletters that will discuss Hindu parenting, and offer practical suggestions to raise children firmly rooted in dharma.
Let’s get started. Om Shri Ganeshaya Namaha.
