Becoming Shakti
An Exclusive Workshop for Teenage Girls
Hindu Parenting brings to you an exclusive workshop "Becoming Shakti" for young girls between the ages of 12 and 16. This three-session series will help participants understand the inherent meaning of Shakti or “power” in Hindu philosophy and theology as associated with a female being. It is understood as the manifestation of dynamic and creative energies. Shakti in our culture may be personified both as the gentle Parvati or the warrior Durga.
Through the interactive lectures and interaction with well-known women (Anshu Dubey and Ami Ganatra) the workshop will offer young girls an alternative view of femininity and womanhood which is contemporary but at the same time is rooted in a native conscience and its astute understanding of human nature.
The workshop will be held on the first weekend of Navaratri 2024 - Friday 4th October, 6 pm IST; Saturday 5th October, 10 am IST and Sunday 6th October, 10 am IST (Indian Standard Time).
Sessions may exceed the allotted time of one hour. Live participation is encouraged for each session. The timings have been carefully chosen to make it possible to attend without missing school or Navaratri events.
Price will be 500/- INR per participant.

Guest speakers:
Ami Ganatra is an alumna of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). A management professional, she is also a devout yoga practitioner, a certified yoga instructor, and a student of Sanskrit and Indian knowledge systems. Her books Mahabharata Unravelled and Ramayana Unravelled, are not retellings or imaginations, but an attempt to go back to the original itihasa and present the story, learnings and nuances for what they are, and make the epics accessible to all. You can find her popular podcasts, courses and lectures on many platforms.
Anshu Dubey is the Founder and President of Brahm Varchas Education, pioneering integration of Vedic wisdom, knowledge and pedagogy with modern education and life through Brahm Varchas knowledge portal. With over 20 years in IT and fintech, she transitioned from leadership roles in digital payments and banking to a deep commitment to holistic education. Anshu founded Brahm Varchas Education as an offshoot of Sanskruti Arya Gurukulam, working as a bridge to bring Bharatiya and Shastriya knowledge, frameworks, sciences, and fundamental principles into contemporary learning, creating a seamless blend of ancient wisdom and modern learning methods.
